Abstract

This work investigated in improving cognitive process and scientific thinking skills of learners by using of innovative demonstrators. Demonstrators composted of simple innovative model and two experimental set-up sets for teaching of piezoelectric energy harvesting concept. Author analyzed perception, cognitive process and scientific thinking skills of learners through various activities according to cognitive science. The results found that learners are good at experimental design, experiment, data manipulation and application. Beside, some of them showed their ability in lateral thinking or creative thinking skills. Although, they did not show their performance on analytical and synthesis thinking skill due to low level of system thinking skill, they seem to be good at scientific reasoning. Therefore, this instructing approach include innovative demonstrators could improve cognitive skills from remembering to creative thinking skills.
